The exclusive world of supercars and hypercars is one filled with fine edge automotive engineering, exotic materials, and brilliance in marketing. Koenigsegg is one such company which strives for perfection in every aspect of their fine vehicle having been able to capture many top honours around the world since its inception in 1994. Founded by Christian von Koenigsegg in Sweden, Koenigsegg first produced their street-legal supercar in 2002 after years of development resulting in the CC and the later version CCX. The niche company is also humble with its operations despite being a publicly traded company with roughly 90 shareholders at any given time. Fast forward to 2010 and the company was set to unveil its second official model – the Agera, which translates to “take action” in Swedish.

TWM Performance 370Z Short Shifter Install - GP_AMF (THUMBNAIL) 1

Tech: TWM Performance 370Z Short Shifter Install

By: AutoMotoFoto | Published on 2012-07-05

Other than installing an air intake system, a short shifter is the next easiest and must-have modification for any vehicle. From factory most manual transmission vehicles are fun to drive with the only complaint being a long throw between gear changes, this is where a short shifter kit like this one courtesy of TWM Performance makes all the difference. As TWM Performance puts it, “By reducing the angle that the shaft travels through between gears, the distance that your hand needs to move between gears is also reduced. In many cases, the shifter shaft is also re-designed to be shorter than stock thus creating a sportier look and feel, as well as aiding in reducing the linear throw length when coupled with the reduced angular throw.” In this week’s #TechThursday piece we install this beautiful kit in the AMF Nissan 370Z project car and show you a step-by-step on how you too can do it with readily available tools in just over an hour.

Installing a cold air intake system is one of the simplest modifications to do on any vehicle and also the most fun in way of end result. Surely there are never any major power gains as most people would expect, but throttle response and that signature suction sound is enough to make anyone a fan. The car in question is a Chevrolet Corvette C6 with the potent 6.0-liter, V8, LS2-engine that needed some help breathing better in way of a K&N intake air system.

Tech: Exhaust Header Install on Lexus IS300

By: Giancarlo Pawelec | Published on 2012-06-07

Exhaust headers are crucial for power gains and more so contribute to the signature exhaust note from engines, especially on the naturally aspirated 2JZ-GE on this Lexus IS300. The owner needed to replace the factory piece that was starting to show severe signs of wear through the endless heat cycles and in the meantime, could also get a nice shiny new piece under the hood – a true win-win. For the replacement, the owner chose a piece from Megan Racing as it was a perfect bang-for-the-buck compared to an OE unit. For those looking to do this install, it is advised that you take your time as the cramped room in the engine bay will prove to be quite frustrating for the average gear head.
