Pagani Huayra Spy Shots

If you like supercars – scratch that – hypercars, then you surely are aware of the Pagani Zonda which debuted at the Geneva Motors Show in 1999. Its variations range from a seemingly mild-mannered basic version tagged as the C12 that cradled a Mercedes-Benz 6.0-liter, V12 allowing for a top speed for 206mph (332 km/hr) to later models like the C12 S in the year 2000 with an AMG-tuned version of the same V12 and the C12 S 7.3 which got a massaged engine to the tune of 547hp. As the years progressed, later models included more track-spec versions such as the 2003 Zonda GR, C12 S Monza, Zonda F, Zonda Roadster F, and the Zonda R Clubsport. The final swan song for what has been tagged by many as the ultimate hyper car came in form of various one-off or limited-edition models starting with the Zonda Cinque which is a personal favorite (and best looking in my opinion) to the Zonda PS, Zonda Uno, Zonda HH, Zonda 750 and Zonda Absolute. It is said that just over 100-units were ever produced and with a decade of builds under Heratio Pagani’s belt, it is surely time for the next generation to emerge, thus bringing us the news from Italy that the name “Huayra” has been trademarked by Pagani leading enthusiasts and journalists alike to believe that this will be the official model name for “Project C-9″ – the ultimate hypercar for this decade.

“The Maserati has trademarked Huayra, or “wind” in the ancient South American language Quechua. Probably will be the name of the next supercar (formerly known as code-C9), which will debut in a few weeks.

A TREASURE IN THE ARCHIVES – continues the tradition of calling the cars with the name of a wind, in fact, the name of the sport Pagani, the Zonda, is a wind of Argentina. Attraverso l’ente che si occupa della gestione dei marchi all’interno della UE, alVolante ha scovato la richiesta di registrazione del marchio “ Huayra ” fatta dalla Horacio Pagani Spa di San Cesario sul Panaro (MO). Through the agency in charge of brand management within the EU, has found alVolante a request for registration of the mark “Huayra” made by Horacio Pagani Spa in San Cesario sul Panaro (MO).

ANTICA LINGUA INCA – Il termine “ Huayra ”, altro non è che la traduzione della parola vento in lingua quechua , una degli antichi idiomi usati dai nativi sudamericani. ANCIENT LANGUAGE INCA – The term “Huayra” is nothing but a translation of the word wind in Quechua, one of the oldest languages used by South American natives. E, con tutta probabilità, questo sarà anche il nome della mostruosa supersportiva da quasi un milione di euro, nome in codice C9 , che verrà svelata fra qualche settimana. And, in all likelihood, this will be the name of the monstrous super nearly one million euro, codenamed C9, which will be unveiled in a few weeks. Le prime foto, infatti, secondo le le voci che girano, dovrebbero apparire online a fine gennaio, mentre per vedere la macchina dal vivo si dovrà aspettare il salone di Ginevra di marzo. The first pictures, in fact, according to the rumors, they should appear online in late January, and live to see the car you will have to wait until the Geneva Motor Show in March.”
